I walked in randomly and wanted to try just one lesson but ended up coming back for 5 lessons! I’ve tried several surf lessons in Bali & Lombok and none compare to Suko. Most surf instructors on the beach or in other schools only teach you the very basic, and simply get tourists to try to stand up on the board as many times as they can until they get exhausted (usually in less than an hour). At Suko, Eddy & Anggi are super dedicated, knowledgeable and flexible. They recommend the right location, timing and boards for your proficiency level, and their lessons are flexible (unlike other places that wrap up your lesson in less than 2 hours, and don’t care about the tide conditions). They correct your techniques with specific instructions and tips. The video & photo debrief back at the shop after surfing is really useful - you learn a lot from their analysis (plus you get really nice photos & videos sent to you after). Suko lessons may cost more than the random ones you find on the beach or online, but everything is all-inclusive here and trust me - it’s worth every penny! Definitely coming back here to progress to intermediate & advanced levels in the future!
